Located In The Heart
Of The Shenandoah Valley . . .
Mt. Jackson, VA, located near the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, offers a life unlike anywhere else. This is a special retreat for people who want to escape the commonplace. Mt. Jackson and the Shenandoah Valley offer areas of gorgeous homes and country estates, farms on rolling acreage, historic properties, rustic log cabins and waterfront retreats.

Formed in 1772, Shenandoah County is strategically located in the northwestern portion of Virginia, between the Allegheny and the Massanutten Mountains, in the heart of the picturesque Shenandoah Valley. Shenandoah is an Indian name meaning "beautiful daughter
of the stars." Located within 150 miles of Washington, D.C., Baltimore (MD), Richmond, Roanoke and Harrisburg (PA), nearby commercial centers include Winchester (30 miles) and Harrisonburg (35 miles). The 507 square mile county includes six incorporated towns: Edinburg, Mt. Jackson, New Market, Strasburg, Toms Brook, Woodstock, and one unincorporated town, Maurertown. Elevations range from 3,500 feet above sea level in the mountains to 1,200 feet on the valley floor. The gently rolling valley terrain is well drained by the Shenandoah River. A balance of beautiful landscape, industry and quality of life make Shenandoah County an exceptional place to live, work and play.
